May 31, 2002, Vienna, VA— Network Designs, Inc., (NDI) an information technology (IT) solution provider, announced today that it will offer Verint Loronix Digital Video Management System Hardware and Software through its GSA Schedule GS-35F-4707H to provide network digital video surveillance solutions to clients with emerging homeland defense and force protection security requirements.
NDI, an Authorized Loronix Integrator, provides digital video management system hardware and software installation; cable plant installation; wireless networking product installation; and network camera installation to enable networked physical security solutions for government and commercial clients.
Recently, NDI was awarded a Video Surveillance Force Protection Initiative contract by the Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ) to provide increased security for service members, their families, and Naval facilities throughout the Command theatre using streaming digital video technology.
In this effort, NDI will install an advanced video surveillance system along 12 waterside locations on Yokosuka Naval Base. The installed system will be able to identify, track, and activate alarms related to friendly and foe waterborne objects (boats, ships, and possibly swimmers); identify multiple objects at distances up to 1600 yards; and initiate tracking and profiling analyses to determine and report projected bearing. The system uses standard daylight, active infrared, and thermal imaging cameras.
