We were awarded the contract to design, implement, staff, and operate the Decennial Network Operations Center (DNOC) at Census headquarters in Suitland, Maryland, and the Auxiliary Decennial Network Operations Center (ADNOC) at Network Designs' headquarters in Vienna, Virginia. The DNOC and ADNOC managed the Census frame-relay network comprising more than 1,200 Cisco Systems routers and switches; 900 servers; and 10,000 desktop computers on a 24x7 schedule.

We were charged with redesigning and deploying the FHFB Web site using state-of-the-art applications to provide a professional Internet presence appropriate for an Executive Depgment agency. After the contract was awarded, the scope of work expanded to include an Intranet design and deployment. The contract had a five-week implementation period. The two Web sites were successfully delivered as scheduled.

As the computer networking support contractor for GSA, Federal Supply Service, we provided network design, implementation, network management, Internet and email access for the Bush/Cheney Presidential Transition Team at 1800 G Street, NW, Washington, DC. Network Designs implemented a primary wireless network solution of 11 Mb/sec and a wired T1 redundant solution of 1.45 Mb/sec.
On February 14, 2001, we were formally recognized during a ceremony at the GSA by June V. Huber, Director, Presidential Transition Support. Ms. Huber handed each Network Designs employee who worked on the project a certificate of appreciation. Dave Riggs, Deputy, Presidential Transition Support, commended Network Designs for excellent work and follow-through. Our work was technically sound, cost effective, timely, and ensured a smooth implementation.

We installed, integrated, and maintained a standards-based LAN with connectivity from the GSA local area backbone network (LABN) to all FSS Regional Fleet Management Systems (FMS) employees. Network Designs also upgraded and standardized approximately 2000 computers in GSA regional cities, 4 FSS distribution centers, 130 FSS Fleet Management Systems (FMS) centers, 11 Customer Supply Centers, and 10 FSS remote field offices. We implemented the ccMail to Lotus Notes email conversion and installed Novell 4.x and 5.x, Windows 98, and Windows NT.
