Census Decennial Network Operations Center

We were awarded the contract to design, implement, staff, and operate the Decennial Network Operations Center (DNOC) at Census headquarters in Suitland, Maryland, and the Auxiliary Decennial Network Operations Center (ADNOC) at Network Designs' headquarters in Vienna, Virginia. The DNOC and ADNOC managed the Census frame-relay network comprising more than 1,200 Cisco Systems routers and switches; 900 servers; and 10,000 desktop computers on a 24x7 schedule.

Public Web Site Redesign & Corporate Intranet Design

We were charged with redesigning and deploying the FHFB Web site using state-of-the-art applications to provide a professional Internet presence appropriate for an Executive Depgment agency. After the contract was awarded, the scope of work expanded to include an Intranet design and deployment. The contract had a five-week implementation period. The two Web sites were successfully delivered as scheduled.

Presidential Transition Team Network Infrastructure

As the computer networking support contractor for GSA, Federal Supply Service, we provided network design, implementation, network management, Internet and email access for the Bush/Cheney Presidential Transition Team at 1800 G Street, NW, Washington, DC. Network Designs implemented a primary wireless network solution of 11 Mb/sec and a wired T1 redundant solution of 1.45 Mb/sec.

On February 14, 2001, we were formally recognized during a ceremony at the GSA by June V. Huber, Director, Presidential Transition Support. Ms. Huber handed each Network Designs employee who worked on the project a certificate of appreciation. Dave Riggs, Deputy, Presidential Transition Support, commended Network Designs for excellent work and follow-through. Our work was technically sound, cost effective, timely, and ensured a smooth implementation.

Federal Supply Service Desktop Upgrade Support
We installed, integrated, and maintained a standards-based LAN with connectivity from the GSA local area backbone network (LABN) to all FSS Regional Fleet Management Systems (FMS) employees. Network Designs also upgraded and standardized approximately 2000 computers in GSA regional cities, 4 FSS distribution centers, 130 FSS Fleet Management Systems (FMS) centers, 11 Customer Supply Centers, and 10 FSS remote field offices. We implemented the ccMail to Lotus Notes email conversion and installed Novell 4.x and 5.x, Windows 98, and Windows NT. Federal Supply Service OCONUS Network Support
We implemented and maintained the FSS Asia/Far East Network, including Customer Service Centers. We set up all existing Asia Marts, providing cabling, LANs, WAN links, backup communications, and support. We wrote the existing Point-of-Sale system being used in Asia GSA marts. Federal Supply Service Computer Room Support
We provided FSS, Office of Chief Information Officer, computer room support, upgrades, and refurbishments; enterprise network/system management LAN; premise wiring and cabling support (local, regional, OCONUS); computer equipment stockroom operations support; and task management/communications. Solution Components: Technical staff expert in wiring/cabling; communications protocols (TCP/IP, NetBEUI, IPX, NetX, routing and switching technologies); and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products)
Federal Supply Service Automatic Call Distribution Center
We created and redesigned the Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) Center for the client. We provided daily support for the call center and system, as well as adjunct implementation and upgrades. Solution Components: FSS Help Desk, Conversant, NT Server, Spanlink WebCall, Spanlink TTOS

Computer Installation and Support

We provided desktop OS and Microsoft Office updates at all U.S Field Business Area (FBA) offices at Coors Brewing Company.

We provided networking and support services to Excel Communications at various sites throughout the country: Chantilly, VA; Washington, DC; Rolling Meadows, IL; Chicago, IL (Sears Tower).

Office Automation Support & Dial-In Configuration

We provided computer installation, configuration, and support.

Email & Internet Solution

We migrated the Novell server to Windows NT, upgraded the desktop to Windows98, and configured and installed DSL connectivity for the entire office (replaced multiple dial-ups). This was a great starter solution for a business that needs Internet and email access.
